ORDINANCE/RESOLUTION CAPTION:

RESOLUTION: APPROVAL TO APPLY FOR THE 2016 SOUTH CAROLINA ASSOCIATION FOR COMMUNITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT HEALTHY INSIGHTS GRANT PROGRAM.

BACKGROUND SUMMARY:

The Hartsville Farmers Market, with grant funding from the USDA, has expanded significantly. Staff are in the process of launching targeted outreach to promote access to those who use SNAP through the implementation of a voucher program. As this grant draws to a close, we seek additional opportunities to sustain and expand these efforts.

IMPACT IF DENIED:

Will not have the option to pursue possible grant funds.

IMPACT IF APPROVED:

Staff will proceed with the application process.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

Neutral.
