RESOLUTION: APPROVAL TO APPLY FOR THE 2016 NATIONAL PARKS SERVICE CIVIL RIGHTS GRANT PROGRAM.

BACKGROUND SUMMARY:

City staff is working with State Historic Preservation Office and local historians to identify eligible project.

IMPACT IF DENIED:

Lose rare opportunity to apply for such funding.

IMPACT IF APPROVED:

Will be able to pursue application to support preservation/stabilization of historic assets in community significant to the Civil Rights movement.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

No local match required.
