| ORDINANCE/RESOLUTION CAPTION: | | Mutual Aid Agreement with South Carolina Department of Corrections and Hartsville Police Department |

| BACKGROUND SUMMARY: | | The South Carolina Department of Corrections wishes to enter into a mutual aid agreement with Hartsville PD for the purpose of increased training for several of their officers. These officers have jail training and experience but lack street experience and dealing with issues outside the prison setting. A majority of the officers to be trained have k9 partners. |

| IMPACT IF DENIED: | | SCDC would have to find another agency to assist them. |

| IMPACT IF APPROVED: | | SCDC would receive some valuable training in real-world experience, and Hartsville Police officers would have backup available. |
