ORDINANCE/RESOLUTION CAPTION: 

RESOLUTION: APPROVAL TO AMEND COMMITTED CITY MATCH ALLOCATION FOR SOUTH HARTSVILLE REVITALIZATION COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT.


BACKGROUND SUMMARY: 
The Council African-American American Cemetery Committee requests a reallocation of grant match funds in the value of $26,500 to offset cemetery vegetation abatement costs.  These funds would be pulled from a now-redundant line item as they were originally intended to demolish houses in the neighborhood.  Given that we have since received over $400,000 in additional award monies to this end, the Committee and staff request a reallocation to ensure highest and best use of taxpayer dollars. 

IMPACT IF DENIED: 
Missed opportunity and will have to wait for unknown period to raise alternative funds. 

IMPACT IF APPROVED: 
Wise allocation of taxpayer dollars.
