| ORDINANCE/RESOLUTION CAPTION: | | Resolution to Apply for PARD Grant for a Restroom Facility at the Byerly Park Basketball Court. |

| BACKGROUND SUMMARY: | | Many citizens who use the basketball courts have requested that the city provide restroom facilities with a water fountain. Currently, children and teens are having to walk to the TB Thomas facility to use the bathrooms. This facility is only open during certain hours and not at all on Sunday. |

| IMPACT IF DENIED: | | If denied, the city would not be able to fund 100% of the restroom construction costs. The kids and teens who use the court would have to continue going into TB Thomas only during the hours that they are open. In addition, there would not be a water fountain which will be crucial during summer months. |

| IMPACT IF APPROVED: | | If approved, this resolution and project will enable the city to construct bathrooms at the Byerly Park basketball court location. |

| FINANCIAL IMPACT: | | If approved, the city will be required to match the grant by 20%. In return, the PARD grant would help fund $36,800 towards the costs to build a restroom with a water fountain at the basketball court. |
