Approval of Lawton Park Pier Removal and Replacement

BACKGROUND SUMMARY:

The Lawton Park Pier has been condemned since June of 2020. We have received two quotes to replace the pier.

IMPACT IF DENIED:

The current pier will remain condemned and the City will be liable if residents were to bypass the barrier and injure themselves.

IMPACT IF APPROVED:

Residents will be able to enjoy the pier and it will not be a liability to the City.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

To remove and replace the pier will cost the City $41,752.
