ORDINANCE/RESOLUTION CAPTION:

Amending the contract with Fire Recovery USA so they can recover fees from responsible party directly when necessary.

BACKGROUND SUMMARY:

Local governments are allowed to recover a portion of the actual operational costs of responses by charging a reasonable rate to at-fault parties; this will allow fees for structure fires and false fire alarms to be recovered from responsible party directly when insurance pays the responsible party instead of Fire Recovery USA.

IMPACT IF DENIED:

May not receive the fees.

IMPACT IF APPROVED:

Would be able to attempt to recover structure fire and false fire alarm fees directly from responsible party when necessary.
