ORDINANCE/RESOLUTION CAPTION: | The Hartsville Police Department seeks to create a Memorandum of Understanding with the ATF Task Force. |

BACKGROUND SUMMARY: | ATF Task Force officers are able to bring in additional resources and monies for the purpose of investigations which reach a federal level, and have access to more advanced equipment and larger amounts of drug buy monies than are typically available to Local and State agencies. |

IMPACT IF DENIED: | If denied, we will be unable to expand investigations past what we traditionally have been able to accomplish. |

IMPACT IF APPROVED: | Hartsville Police Department will have access to more advanced equipment, larger amounts of buy monies for drug stings, and have help and expertise from ATF Officers. |

FINANCIAL IMPACT: | Negligible. Officers working with the ATF on investigations may be able to receive compensation for overtime, which will save the City money for work completed. |
