ORDINANCE/RESOLUTION CAPTION: 

RESOLUTION: APPROVAL TO APPLY FOR A 2017 USDA COMMUNITY FACILITIES GRANT FOR THE HARTSVILLE REGIONAL AIRPORT.


BACKGROUND SUMMARY: 
The Hartsville Regional Airport with the support of the City wishes to apply for the USDA Community Facilities grant program for maintenance equipment and hangar door installation. Maintenance equipment will allow the airport to maintain airport grounds appropriately and self-sufficiently. Additionally, the installation of a hangar door to the FBO building will give the airport an updated appearance attracting further clients to the airport. The City qualifies for a 15% reimbursement on the project for up to $50,000. Funds for the project will be provided by the budget allocation for the airport. 

IMPACT IF DENIED: 
The Hartsville Regional Airport will be unable to begin comprehensive plan improvements to the airport and will be unable to continue attracting new business. 

IMPACT IF APPROVED: 
The Hartsville Regional Airport will being planned improvements to continue being operational and sustainable.
