ORDINANCE/RESOLUTION CAPTION: 

RESOLUTION: APPROVAL TO APPLY FOR A 2017 USDA COMMUNITY FACILITIES GRANT FOR THE HARTSVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT.



BACKGROUND SUMMARY: 

The City of Hartsville wishes to apply for a 2017 USDA Community Facilities Grant for police vehicles for the Hartsville Police Department. Vehicles are on rotation and approximately 5 have been budgeted for purchase for FY 2017 - 2018. The City qualifies for a 15% reimbursement of this project for up to $50,000. 



IMPACT IF DENIED: 
The Hartsville Police Department will be unable to obtain additional funds for future purchase or maintenance of police vehicles. 


IMPACT IF APPROVED: 

The Hartsville Police Department will be eligible for reimbursement on already planned purchased of police vehicles to be put towards maintenance or purchase of more vehicles.
