ORDINANCE/RESOLUTION CAPTION: 

APPROVAL OF DESIGN BUILD CONTRACTOR FOR PUBLIC SERVICE BUILDING.



BACKGROUND SUMMARY: 

We had appropriated 3 Million dollars for construction of a new Public Service facility.  After initial discussions with the Hybrid Engineering team, negotiations stalled.  Approximately $200,000 was spent on civil engineering fees and designs.  We recently re-engaged the project opting for a design build.  Four (4) companies provided proposals, Mashburn Construction, Gilbert Construction, GMK associates and Camden Construction. After reviewing the proposals, Camden Construction's team is the recommended company to construct our Public Service facility.



IMPACT IF DENIED: 
Public Service personnel will continue to work on outdated facilities which are in dire need of repair and/or demolition.


IMPACT IF APPROVED: 
Will be able to place all Public Service personnel at one location and provide the facilities required to maintain our fleet of vehicles and continue to provide the city the services as required.


FINANCIAL IMPACT: 

Funds have already been secured for this project.
