| ORDINANCE/RESOLUTION CAPTION: | | Resolution to Apply for a SC Department of Parks, Recreation, & Tourism (SCPRT) Undiscovered SC Grant |

| BACKGROUND SUMMARY: | | The Undiscovered SC grant assists communities with the development of publicly owned tourism products that will encourage visitors to travel through SC. Developing and maintaining a successful tourism product is a long-term, complex and expensive process. This grant will help the city in its endeavors to continue attracting tourists to Neptune Island. |

| IMPACT IF DENIED: | | The city would be unable to fund the tourism related improvements to Neptune Island. |

| IMPACT IF APPROVED: | | If approved, the city would be able to utilize these SCPRT funds for Neptune Island improvements and increase tourism to the water park which has direct and indirect positive impacts to local businesses and the community. |

| FINANCIAL IMPACT: | | This grant is a one for one match with the city requesting $200,000, and the matching funds coming from 2020/2021 hospitality taxes. |
