ORDINANCE/RESOLUTION CAPTION:

To fill an unexpired term vacancy on Planning Commission.

BACKGROUND SUMMARY:

Rebecca McDonald has resigned from the Planning Commission since she is moving from Hartsville and this will leave a vacancy with a term that will expire June 30, 2021.

According to City Code Sec. 66-27. - Terms of appointive members; vacancies.

The appointed members of the planning commission shall be appointed for three-year staggered terms. Any vacancy during the unexpired term of an appointed member shall be filled by the council for the remainder of the term and shall serve until their successors are appointed.

IMPACT IF DENIED:

City Planning Commission will be short one member until an appointment is made.

IMPACT IF APPROVED:

City Planning Commission will have a full membership and in compliance with City Code.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

None.
