| BACKGROUND SUMMARY: | | The SC Business License Tax Standardization Act passed by the SC Legislature in September 2020 requires all municipalities to adopt a standardized class schedule and to update it by December 31st of odd years. This Ordinance updates the current business license class schedule to adopt the latest schedule as recommended by the Municipal Association of SC (MASC) and adopted by the Director of Revenue and Fiscal Affairs. |

| IMPACT IF DENIED: | If denied, the city will be out of compliance with Act 176 requiring all municipalities to adopt a standardized class schedule. |
