ORDINANCE/RESOLUTION CAPTION:

Approval of design build contractor for renovation of Piratesville Splash Pad.

BACKGROUND SUMMARY:

The Piratesville splash pad is in need of repair and upgrade in order to continue to operate as expected. Council authorized $600,000 in the capital lease for Water Park improvements in the fiscal year 2023-2024 budget. The City has advertised, received and reviewed proposals for design build contractors. Staff recommends awarding the design-build services to Water Technology, Inc. and Miracle Pools, Inc.

IMPACT IF DENIED:

The renovation of the 10-year-old splash pad will be put on hold and the City will incur costly repairs for the existing splash pad.

IMPACT IF APPROVED:

Design and build services for the renovation of the splash pad will proceed.
